Why I Love Photographing Farms and Kissing Cow

I love working on sessions that go beyond just portraits — sessions that tell a story, connect to heart and home. That is exactly what happened when I photographed at Kissing Cow in Wellsville Missouri. Kissing Cow is a small family owned business where kindness, care, and quality matter in every cut of meat. Their dedication to raising good beef makes them special. According to a local write up, Kissing Cow sells farm fresh beef and pork by the cut — steaks, roasts, and more — from their farm to their little store at 215 Hudson Street. epsilon.creativecirclecdn.com

Walking through the farmstore, seeing their selection, and talking with the family behind the business reminded me how meaningful it can be to support small farmers. For me and my family this matters especially because we deal with food sensitivities and often struggle to find healthy, natural beef. With Kissing Cow we found not only quality but also fairness in price. Their meat far exceeded anything we had gotten from big store chains.

The Photo Session: Capturing Atmosphere, Warmth, and Real Life

The session was more than portraits. I wanted to capture the warmth and authenticity of a family-run farm business, the kind you feel the moment you step inside.

For my family, food is more than nutrition — it is about safety, trust, and knowing where meals come from. With food sensitivities, we often feel like we are navigating a maze at the grocery store. That is why finding Kissing Cow felt like a relief. Their natural beef — steaks, meat sticks, beef dogs — gave us meals we felt good about.
