Today’s sunflower mini session in Jonesburg Missouri felt incredibly special because it was with my husbands extended family. This is his dads side of the family, and every year it amazes me how much everyone grows and changes. Photographing them in the golden sunflower field gave me such a sweet reminder of how fast time moves and how important these moments truly are.

We started with the full group, filling the field with smiles and laughter as everyone gathered in close. The bright blooms framed their faces beautifully and helped create the warm and joyful feeling I always hope to capture. From there I moved into smaller groupings which allowed me to show the bonds that make this family so unique.

One of my favorite parts of this session was photographing his grandparents surrounded by their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Watching them hold the littlest members of the family, smile at their grown grandchildren, and get wrapped up in those genuine hugs was such a gift. These are the kinds of memories they will cherish for years to come, and I am always honored to help preserve them.

The sunflower field in Jonesburg gave us the perfect mix of color, light, and summer magic. Sessions like this remind me why I love photography so much. It is not just about pictures. It is about freezing these fleeting seasons and celebrating the people who mean the most.
