A Sunflower Mini Session Filled With Love and Tradition

Today I photographed one of my favorite yearly traditions, a sunflower mini photo session in Jonesburg Missouri with a sweet family of four. Every summer they return to the sunflower field to update their photos, and each year it feels like such a gift to document how much the kids change. Sunflowers bloom for such a short and beautiful time, and these sessions always remind me how quickly childhood passes too.

Capturing a Family Tradition

As soon as the family stepped into the field the kids ran straight toward the tallest blooms. Their excitement set the tone for the entire session. Mom and dad stood back for a moment just watching them, and you could feel how much they treasure this time together. These yearly sunflower photos have become a tradition they look forward to, and I love being the one who helps preserve it.

We captured sweet smiles, quiet moments, silly poses, and all the little in between expressions that make each child unique. The sunflowers surrounded them in waves of golden color, giving every image that warm summer magic you can never recreate anywhere else.

Memories They Will Cherish Forever

What I love most about this family is how dedicated they are to documenting their children as they grow. These sessions are more than pretty photos. They are pieces of their family story. Years from now they will look back at these sunflower images and see how small the kids once were, how their personalities bloomed over time, and how much love has always surrounded them.

I am so grateful I was here today to capture another chapter in their beautiful sunflower tradition.
