A Sweet Summer Tradition at Mamoo Cousin Camp

Every summer I get the joy of photographing one of my favorite clients. She is known as Mamoo to her grandkids and every year she hosts her famous Mamoo Cousin Camp. For one full week her home is filled with laughter, games, arts and crafts, adventures, and the happiest kind of chaos. And part of her tradition is inviting me over to capture the memories with all of her grandchildren together. Summer Mamoo Cousin Camp Photography Session

Photographing the Same Spot Every Year

We take the photos in the same cozy corner of their yard each summer. It has become a familiar backdrop that feels like part of the tradition itself. There is something so special about setting the kids in the same place each year and watching how they change. They grow taller, their personalities shine in new ways, and sometimes there is a brand new cousin added to the group.

The kids always show up full of excitement from whatever camp activity they finished right before I arrived. Sometimes they are a little tired, sometimes extra silly, and always full of love for their Mamoo. These sessions are a mix of posed group photos and fun candid moments that happen naturally in between.

A Family Tradition I Treasure

I look forward to Mamoo Cousin Camp every year. Watching these cousins grow together and seeing the bond they share is such a gift. Their grandma pours so much love into this tradition and I feel honored to help her preserve it through photographs.

These images become part of their family history. One day the kids will look back and remember the summers spent together at Mamoo Cousin Camp. And of course each year we get to celebrate the newest cousin joining the group.

This session is one I will always treasure.
