College Graduating Mom| Alyssa
I can not wait to show you this College Graduating Mom Session! You know what deserves to be captured? EVERYTHING!!! Graduating from college is always big deal a deserves to be celebrated. BUT when you do it when you already have a little one and a baby on the way you are freaking super woman!!!
Here’s what Alyssa had to say:
“Saturday (Today) would’ve been the day that I walked across the stage and received my Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice with a Minor in Accounting. With or without a commencement ceremony, I did it.I completed college while raising two children AND maintaining a 3.8 GPA. Many use their children as an excuse not to go to school. Instead, I used my children as an excuse to fulfill my education. I have officially accepted a position of Crime Data Analyst. While my start date is pending due to COVID-19, I’m so excited to start the next chapter of my life doing what I love. Aside from accepting a wonderful position, I have also decided to pursue my Masters in Legal Studies. I have also been accepted and will be attending Washington University School of Law starting in October 2020.
Looking Back
I remember being a 17 year old, senior in high school, finding out I was pregnant. As Bryan and I told our friends and family, I remember hearing from many of those people, “You won’t be able to go college, you won’t be successful, life will be hard for you.” I went to college, graduated, bought a house with my husband, getting ready to buy a new house, start law school, and continue to raise my children. To say I’m proud of myself, is an absolute understatement. I have worked my ass off for this and I deserve to brag on myself for a minute.
HUGE thank you to those who have and continue to support me. Especially my wonderful husband, our two children, and my grandparents. Without them, I don’t know where I’d be in life. Also, shoutout to Rebecca Chapman Photography (Becka Chapman Alberternst) for always capturing life’s moments, even at 37 weeks pregnant. I can’t thank her enough for all she does for me.”
